Become a volunteer

The Gateway to Flanders Foundation runs almost entirely on volunteers. We are always looking for new colleagues. As a volunteer you occupy an important place within the Gateway to Flanders. Your work is greatly appreciated.

The nice thing about volunteering is that you do something completely different than in your day-to-day life. The opportunity to develop your skills and discover new talents. It is also just nice to do something together with others and to meet new people. Certainly in such a dynamic environment as the Gateway to Flanders. Every day is different here!

In consultation with you we look at which tasks you could perform and how many hours you are available. For example, we are looking for people for our reception, guides, skippers and drivers for our trains. Of course, it is nice if you have experience in a maritime environment, for example sailing on barges or seagoing ships. But you are just as welcome as ‘landlubber’ with affinity for our work.
