RouTerneuzen

The lock complex forms the beating heart of maritime Terneuzen. But the surroundings of this special port city are also worth a visit. This package offers water rats and landlubbers the opportunity to look further afield. Be surprised by nature and discover that the water is never far away.

You start this afternoon at ’t Zusje in Terneuzen. There we serve three drinks and you choose two dishes from the tapas menu. Of course you can always decide to order an extra dish. Afterwards the beautiful route starts to the west. Which means of transport do you choose? You can choose from the e-chopper and e-solex (*). First you make a short stopover at the Portal of Flanders and visit the information center. Here you turn the knobs and learn what happens in the locks and ports. With an interactive exhibition we take you into the past, present and future. That future is bright, especially in view of the construction of the Nieuwe Sluis. A cup of coffee or tea is included.

Continue your route along the Braakman, a former estuary of the Western Scheldt, and the Braakmanbos. Point your compass to the west, so that you can ‘moor’ at tea garden ’t Gemeentehuis in Biervliet. This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable trip. Especially because you will be welcomed in Biervliet with coffee, tea and fresh, homemade apple pie. At the end of the afternoon you will anchor at ’t Zusje in Terneuzen, the final destination. Undoubtedly with a load of new knowledge and experiences.
