Canal by Night

With this tasty dining and sailing package on the Canal from Ghent to Terneuzen, you combine the tough dynamics of the Terneuzen harbour area with the romance of a boat trip during the glowing evening hours. Discover how activities in this maritime world continue 24 hours a day and let the experienced guide brush up on your port knowledge.
This special evening cruise starts at 5:00 PM or 6:15 PM at the Portaal van Vlaanderen. Simultaneously with you and your party, an experienced guide will embark. On the way to Sluiskil, you will learn everything from him about living, working and sailing in the Canal Zone. You will pass the bulk cargo port, the Zevenaarhaven, and you will pass the Sluiskil Island. Via the Autrichehaven the ship heads to Sluiskil, where the footbridge is placed in front of you in the harbour so that you can go ashore.
 

After this fascinating cruise, you will be a guest at restaurant Dallinga in Sluiskil. There you can enjoy a delicious three-course menu. About two hours later you are expected on board again, for the return trip to the Portaal van Vlaanderen. This boat trip, where you cross the canal again, takes about 30 minutes. You will discover how impressively beautiful the Terneuzen harbour area is from the water.

 

Dates 2023

The dates on which the Canal by Night package takes place are Fridays July 14 and 28, August 11 and 25, September 22 and 29, October 20 and November 10. Groups of 10 and a maximum of 12 people can also reserve other dates in consultation.

Rates and reservations

The Canal by Night package costs €49.50 per person. This includes the educational boat trip and a three-course dinner in restaurant Dallinga and excludes drinks. The dinner consists of soup, boiled mussels and coffee/tea. In consultation, you can opt for sea bass fillet or grilled rib eye with a sauce of your choice.
